SOFIA DE FALCO
VIOLIN
Born in Rome, Sofia De Falco began her violin journey under the tutelage of
Marco Fornaciari. After receiving her diploma in Italy, she relocated to Basel
in 2018 to continue her studies with Raphaël Oleg at the Musik Akademie
Basel, where she is currently pursuing her master’s degree.
Passionate about chamber music and chamber orchestra, she participates in
several groups and is a member of the arte frizzante String Orchestra. She
also completed an internship with Kammerorchester Basel in 2021, an
ensemble with which she continues to collaborate as a substitute.
Sofia's musical interests are diverse, encompassing exploration of various
styles such as the Baroque/classical repertoire, performing with both baroque
violin and classical settings, as well as jazz and improvisation, which led her
to become a member of the jazz chamber group "Fo and The Murmurs" in
2022.
She maintains regular collaborations with esteemed ensembles including the
Kammerorchester Basel, Kammerorchester ITEMPI, Neues Orchester Basel,
and Ensemble Tsurà.
